There is an attitude of mind which makes comments like “Twitter is just one of those useless things to keep teenagers amused and playing with their phones”, “I never use social networking”, “what’s Twitter?”, “all this stuff is rubbish and not relevant to me”.
All of the above may or not be true but here is why you should think seriously about using Twitter to get quick updates from your sailing club. These instructions will tell you how to do it. Click here (file is PDF)
There will be a brief talk on Wednesday evening 1st September with a demo.

GWSC is happy to host the Inland Championship for Ovington Classes – 29ers, 49ers, 59ers, International 14s and Musto Skiffs.  For the Notice of Race please use the quick link to the right of the home page.

Strong northerly winds didn’t deter the 30 hardy entrants in the Beds and Cambs Regatta.  Sailability made a strong showing taking the first three places in the Slow Handicap.  Congratulations to Kirsten Pollock who won all three races in Challenger 265. Read the rest of this entry »

Fine weather, warm (but shifty winds), close sailing, no dramas! - what else could you wish for!

Don’t forget that “Beginner Race Training” is running. The purpose of these sessions is to introduce the way that we run racing at Grafham and to give you a chance to learn or brush up on your sailing skills for racing. This is is not a “how to sail” course, the assumption is that you already know how to sail your boat and that you now want to move into racing or at least try it out in an unpressurised environment.
All are welcome to these sessions. Pre-booking is not obligatory but it would be really helpful if you could let us know in advance if possible. Please email kim.harris [at] grafham.org or let the office know. The dates are shown on the panel with this article.
Also, you do not have to attend all the sessions but there will be some progression and skill development throughout the season so it will be worthwhile to attend as many as you can. Do not worry if you have missed early ones, you are welcome to join in at any time.
Please be rigged and changed and ready to go at 13:30 in the wet bar for each session. There will be a short briefing and then straight on the water.
