On 23rd-24th November, the club is hosting an RYA Race Officer Course. No club members have yet registered and online entry is closed but if you would like to attend, then please contact Peter Saxton who can sort an entry out for you (07860 959666 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
The course is organised by the Regional RYA Race Managment Corordinators and run by the RYA Race Management Committee approved Instructors. The Courses are held around the country. Preparation for the course includes being familiar with the RYA Race Management Guide
At the end of the Course, a 50 question multi-choice exam is set with a 70% pass mark. A pass in this exam gives the candidate, as long as they are an RYA member, an automatic Race Officer Theory Course Certificate. This exam is one of the requirements for the RRO qualification.
For the course you will need writing material, the preparation material, fictional regatta document which will be sent to you along with the joining instructions and the Rule Book (Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020).

Timings are: Saturday 09.30 hrs – 17.15, Sunday 09.00 – 15.30.
